CSS Support Worker – Youth Services
Location: Porirua, Wellington, Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt & Kapiti regions
Job Type – Casual/Part-time Shift Work (including weekends and public holidays)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

About the Role
As a CSS Support Worker with a focus on Youth, you will play a key role in providing care, supervision, guidance and emotional support to young people under our care.
You will work closely with our team to ensure that each individual’s physical, emotional, and social needs are met, helping them develop life skills and resilience in a safe and supportive environment. Working collaboratively with team members, social workers, and external stakeholders, you will ensure the best outcomes for the youth in your care.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide direct support and supervision to young people, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Build positive relationships with youth and support them in their personal development.
• Assist in the development and implementation of recreational and educational programmes tailored to individual needs.
• Collaborate with families, health professionals, and community organisations to achieve the best outcomes for youth.
• Manage complex behaviours in line with CSS’s policies and training.
• Maintain accurate records and care plans, ensuring all actions are documented.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A strong understanding of cultural diversity, including a commitment to meeting the needs of Māori and Pacific youth.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to use computers and apps as/when required
• A current full driver s licence is preferred, but if you are keen and motivated to gain full licence
• NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 2 to 4) or equivalent is preferred but this is not mandatory and opportunity for further study provided
Desirable Skills and Experience:
• NZQA Certificate in Health & Wellbeing, or relevant experience in the community or social services sector.
• Knowledge of disability services, health and safety legislation, and sector standards.
