ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a great opportunity for Disability Support Workers to join our Team in Perth (Midland) on a casual basis.

Disability Support Workers play a crucial role in delivering scheduled NDIS support that focuses on enhancing the independent living, social, and recreational skills of individuals with disabilities. We are seeking experienced, passionate, and knowledgeable professionals who are dedicated to working with people with disabilities and whose values align with ours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Emergency respite work, including short stay motel accommodation
  • To provide high-quality, person-centred support to NDIS participants in a home/residential or recreational setting
  • Provide support to people with disabilities, which help to build independence and capacity and increase their participation in activities, tasks, and outings in the community
  • Administration, report writing and compliance responsibilities
  • Contribute to a positive work culture
  • Compliance with the Workplace Health and Safety Act

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Experience working with people with a disability
  • Demonstrated understanding of person-centred care
  • Demonstrated ability in working with people with disability and promoting capacity building through support work
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in the development of support plans and to complete necessary documentation including risk assessments
  • Demonstrated positive communication, time management and teamwork skills

Desired

  • Qualification in Disability, Community Services, or Mental Health;
  • Experience supporting participants with challenging behaviours

Our programs include Therapeutic Intensive Residential Care, Intensive Family Preservation, Therapeutic Foster Care, Restoration, and other associated care types, we are a registered NDIS provider and operate a social enterprise Maintenance and repairs business.
