About Your Role:
As an Allara Support Worker you will play a key role empowering the people we support, to be part of the community, to live independently & to live their best life.
We currently have positions available for our Navali, Highland (Penrith) disability accommodation site. We work with participants with varying needs from physical support, intellectual support, social support, mental health & challenging behaviours. This service is a mainstream residential building integrating 10 specialist disability accommodation apartments featuring our concierge model. This innovative support model allows people with High Physical support needs to reach their ultimate independence. The service has 10 High Physical Support luxury apartments that offer 24/7 onsite support. There is an on-site carer’s unit integrated with assistive technology and nurse call buttons, so our clients have access to support whenever they need.
You will also be working 1:1 with high physical support need clients in their own home with everything from social support, complex high intensity support needs, mental health & challenging behaviours.
Duties may include:
• High Intensity Support
• Assistance with personal care tasks
• Assistance with daily life activities
• Assistance with capacity building tasks
• Assistance with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry and meal preparation
• Administration of medication
• Support for medical appointments
• Community participation, including support to get to and from community access activities
• Assistance with travel / transport
• Social support
Key support types:
- Manual Handling
- Catheter/Bowel Care
- Diabetes/Subcutaneous management
- PEG feeding

You will need to be / have the following:
• Experience with High Complex Care (manual handling, bowel care, mealtime management, etc.)
• Experience with High Intensity Support
• Experience with Personal Care
• Highly engaging and proactive approach
• Fluent English communication skills
• Ability to follow protocol and procedures
• Documentation and Data Collection
• Driver’s license, reliable vehicle and comprehensive insurance
• Comfortable with providing personal care
• Flexible availability & ability to work across different shifts including morning, evening, weekends, and sleepovers
• Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or relevant industry experience (highly desirable)
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance & Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
• NSW Police Check (through Service NSW)
• Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
• Strong desire to support people with a disability to increase and maintain independence
• Positive, energetic and a ‘can-do’ attitude with a passion for working with people
