Your Role in Our Mission
We are seeking a Manager to run our Private Tax Division. An integral part of the practice, which includes high net wealth individuals, small businesses, property investors, and share investors; with capital gains, and other tax obligations.
This role is ideal for someone experienced in managing a large client portfolio and who thrives on client interaction and support. A background in public practice, along with a strong understanding of personal tax and compliance, is essential for success in this position.
What You’ll Do
• Manage a portfolio of clients providing quality work, sound advice and timely outcomes.
• Manage, review work and train the team in Melbourne and the Philippines.
• Contribute to business development (assisted by Partner Group).
• Review and manage delivery of client tax compliance services, more specifically personal tax returns, and small family entities, including sole traders, trusts, and companies.
• Review and manage lodgement compliance programs (ATO/SRO).
What We’re Looking For
We value people who are driven, curious, and committed to excellence. You’ll thrive in this role if you have:
• Bachelor’s (or higher) degree with a major in accounting.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in a private client tax advisory role.
• CPA/CA or equivalent.
• Experience managing a large client portfolio.
• Experience in Australian tax return preparation, and annual year end financial statements for small business entities.
• Experience in client meetings, client correspondence, and attending to tax queries.
• Public practice accounting experience (essential).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify tax-efficient strategies
• High level of attention to detail and commitment to providing exceptional client experiences.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build trusting relationships.
• The ability to prioritise tasks and deadlines.
• A strong tech stack including Xero Practice Manager, Xero Tax, Business Fitness, FYI Docs, ATO Mate, Fusesign, Fee Synergy, and Last Pass.
• Committed to learning, and growing with the Company.
• Focused on client relationships, and a high level of client service.
• Authentic and inclusive, willing to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Seeking continual improvements and efficiencies in work practices.
• Open to looking for opportunities to grow client positions, and expand client services, including referral to aligned businesses.
