OHS Consultant

Consultants • Melbourne, Victoria 3000, Australia • Full-time

Description

Are you passionate about making workplaces healthier and safer? We’re on the lookout for a motivated OHS Consultant to join our dynamic team at Action OHS Consulting!

We’re looking for someone who brings energy, curiosity, and a drive to grow. If you’re a member of the AIOH, have experience with HSR training, are ICAM-trained, and hold Lead Auditor credentials (ISO 45001 minimum)—amazing! But if you don’t tick every box just yet, don’t worry. This role is also a fantastic opportunity to build experience in these areas with the support of a collaborative and experienced team.

What you’ll get to do:

  • Dive into occupational hygiene assessments and exposure monitoring
  • Deliver engaging HSR training (TAE40122 or equivalent)
  • Lead or support ICAM-based incident investigations
  • Conduct audits across ISO 45001, 14001, and 9001
  • Work closely with clients to deliver practical, people-focused OHS solutions

At Action OHS, we’re all about impact, flexibility, and growth. You’ll be part of a team that values your ideas, supports your development, and celebrates your wins.

On that, besides the work…why us?

We aim to provide a comprehensive range of benefits to help you have a positive and fulfilling work experience. These include:

  • Our explicit consideration to both Sustainability and our Environmental Impact. We’re a Certified B Corp – so yes, we’re more than just a “recycling bin” here, and another there!
  • We hold monthly All Staff Meetings, along with an Annual All Team Conference. You get to hear and see from the Executive Team how we are performing. We strongly believe that your knowledge of our strategy and objectives, paired with both our financial and operational health, helps you to actively contribute to where we want to be in 12-months, and the next 5-years.
  • Our Profit Share Program means we share our “financial” success. You work hard to make us a success, so we want you to share in the “good times”. In addition to you taking some of the $$$, we also get you to annually nominate a charity of your choice, which we will then support and advocate for both internally and externally. Last year the count was 24 charities!
  • Along with life-work balance being one of our 6-values; we have established the following Wellbeing Initiatives: (i) cover the cost of your annual flu jab, (ii) provide you annual with a wellbeing allowance to use to any activity you like – as long as it benefits your physical or mental wellbeing, (iii) aim to increase the activity of our “social club”, (iv) have “healthy snacks” for those working out of Cubitt Street, and (v) promote hybrid work strategies.
  • We’ve established Tailored Onboarding and Buddy Programs. We want to ensure all “newbies” feel welcome and supported.
  • To building a Learning Culture – we provide you with two Professional Development Days annually, plus we have a Professional Development Budget.
  • Sure, Public Holiday Swap has become mainstream, however, this bullet point lets you know that it’s something we support. We want to support your beliefs, culturally and socially.
  • We have a number of internal programs that we would love to walk you through such as our We Care Program. This offers employees who are going through a rough time, the stability to stay balanced on their proverbial feet.
  •  We take real pride in fostering a positive and supportive environment, that we hope will allow you to grow both personally and professionally.

Company Overview

Our mission is to strive to make safety accessible and easier for all people, no matter their expertise. Yep, we’re those guys, we work hard to ensure mums, dads, brothers, sisters and (big) children arrive home from work daily, so they can live life to the fullest. To support this mission, we started Action OHS Consulting and then realised that we could empower businesses to manage safety independently, if they had technology that was built to suit them. That’s why we built Safety Champion Software, which today, co-exists side by side with Action OHS Consulting as sister companies. Collectively, both businesses employ 45 employees – and we’re always keeping an eye out for great talent!
