Description

About us

Allcare is one of the leading in-home aged care service providers in New South Wales. We are passionate about providing cost effective, innovative, flexible and high quality services to our clients, allowing them to age in their own home and surroundings.

What are we looking for?

We are currently seeking a compassionate Community Support Worker in the lower Shoalhaven region, particularly in and around Ulladulla, to join our team in supporting our in-home aged care clients.

This is a casual role, however we are looking for candidates with approximately 14 hours per week availability, with flexibility across morning, afternoon, and weekend shifts. Ideally, you will be available for at least 2 – 3 days a week (or more, as this region continues to grow).

The role involves:

  • Providing quality support and client directed care for people over the age of 65, to help them strengthen their capacity to continue living in their own home, including:
  • Personal care services such as grooming and hygiene, general self care and assistance with dressing as appropriate to client’s capacity;
  • Medication support and assistance such as medication reminders, support with Webster packs or insulin and blood pressure checks (with relevant training);
  • Community engagement services such as assistance with daily community interactions and appointments, assistance with grocery shopping, attending outdoor activities and meeting up with social groups;
  • Transportation services such as taking clients to medical or personal appointments, collection or drop off at services or shopping;
  • General assistance around the home such as meal preparation, cooking of meals, general tidying, laundry and making beds.

Unlike other providers, allcare team members are not required to do large blocks of cleaning, as we provide separate professional cleaning services to our clients.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A great attitude with a genuine interest in helping others;
  • An understanding of the care needs of older people and a commitment to providing quality care;
  • The ability to work independently in an unsupervised environment;
  • Previous experience in a similar role (desirable but not essential);
  • A valid Drivers Licence and access to a fully insured vehicle;
  • A Mobile Phone with Internet access;
  • Be willing to undertake a National Police Check History check and have valid working rights in Australia;
  • A minimum of three COVID-19 vaccination doses; and
  • A current annual Influenza vaccination (to be renewed each year).

Our team members enjoy:

  • Working in a supportive environment in a position that offers variety and makes a difference to someone’s life;
  • Employee Referral (Refer a Friend) Scheme;
  • Paid travel time between clients, and reimbursement of travel kilometres.

allcare is committed to creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity and inclusion. We strive to create an equal employment environment where everyone from any background can be themselves.
