Veterinary Technician/Senior Veterinary Nurse

Description

This position includes a range of responsibilities, such as nurse consultations, inpatient hospital care, surgical nursing, and anaesthesia monitoring and management. Participation in the reception roster is optional.

Key Responsibilities and Skills:

  • Strong surgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoring skills are essential. Experience with orthopaedic and complex surgeries is highly regarded.
  • Proficiency in dental procedures, including dental radiography would be highly advantageous.
  • Confidence in conducting physical examinations and familiarity with veterinary nomenclature.
  • Knowledge of veterinary medications and preventatives, including safe handling, dispensing, and administration
  • Ability to triage emergency cases that present to the clinic.
  • Competency in obtaining blood samples, placing IV catheters, performing in-house cytology and blood smears, and managing fluid therapy
