Sales Consultant – Window Furnishings (Blinds, Awnings, Shutters & Drapery)

Sales Manager

Fyshwick (Canberra-based)

Position Overview:

The Sales Consultant is responsible for promoting and selling Watson Blinds & Awnings’ full range of window furnishing products to residential customers. This includes conducting in-home consultations, preparing accurate quotes, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience from enquiry through to installation.

The role combines strong interpersonal skills with a practical understanding of interior design and product functionality. The successful candidate will represent the Watson brand with professionalism, integrity, and a sense of pride.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-home consultations with customers to assess needs and provide tailored product advice.
  • Promote and sell Watson’s range of blinds, shutters, awnings, and curtains/drapery.
  • Prepare accurate quotations and follow up on leads in a timely and professional manner.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Liaise with internal teams (showroom, scheduling, installation) to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and stay informed on new ranges and innovations.
  • Represent the company’s values — Quality, Integrity, Ease, and Experience — in all interactions.
  • Achieve individual and team sales targets while maintaining exceptional service standards.

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in sales (window furnishings or home improvement industry preferred).
  • Proven ability to close sales and meet or exceed targets.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management.
  • Confident using digital tools for quoting and reporting (tablet or CRM systems).
  • A self-motivated professional with a customer-first mindset.
  • Must hold a current driver’s licence and full working rights in Australia.
