P O S I T I O N S U M M A R Y
The primary function of the Social Support Mentor at Together We Can International Pty Ltd (TWCI) is to provide assistance and support to neurodiverse individuals within the community. You will provide them with all their tools to be able to become a better version of themselves, work towards their goals & be their biggest support person along the way. You will engage in group environments & activities to encourage them to try new things, make new friends & have fun! Working in a fast-paced environment, with a supportive team you will provide exceptional support to our Social Support Community.

- Driver licence & own reliable vehicle NDIS Clearance
- Working with Children Clearance (WWC) Excellent Communication skills

- Previous experience working with people with a Disability. Lived experience with Disabled or vulnerable people.
- Previous experience supporting young people with barriers. First Aid, Mental Health, Youth work, social work, or Human Services qualifications or experience

Having prior exposure or lived experience with people with a disability or experience in a similar industry, you understand the challenges our participants face when looking for work. Importantly, you have a passion for the sector and relate to our mission and more importantly our values.

- Maintaining a balanced & effective schedule

- Able to follow instructions, read and understand participant support plans
- Ensuring ALL participant support plans are read and understood prior to any shift
- Effective time management, ensuring you are on time & prepared
- Able to effectively use a sense of initiative.
- Problem-solving skills, solving problems that come along the way and knowing how to escalate when required.
- Submitting Shift Notes within 24 hours of your shift to a TWCI standard (training provided)
- Sunscreen Application forms & Incident Reports, if needed
- Able to effectively use relevant in-house systems and processes as shown
- Reliability and commitment to participant well-being and safety
- Communicating with your teams, managers and supervisors about any issues or concerns
- Claim shifts, communicate unavailability, etc. in a timely manner
- Attend any staff training for ongoing improvement and process changes as required for your role
- Confident in approaching the manager with any problems
- Active listening & respect at ALL TIMES
- Following policy & procedures including conflict of interest, confidentiality & non-disclosures
- Displaying a positive, can-do attitude, promoting social interaction
- Ability to set clear boundaries and work towards achieving participant goals
