Mind & Movement Clinic – in conjunction with Inner North Medical Clinic – is a patient-focused practice based in Brunswick East, specialising in evidence-based alternative and integrative healthcare. We support patients across a wide range of health needs including chronic disease management, preventive health, women’s and men’s health and integrative wellbeing including a healthy weight management clinic. Purpose of the Role
Our busy GP and Allied Health Clinics in Brunswick East are seeking an exceptional and experienced Dietitian to provide evidence-based nutrition assessment and care planning for patients within an allied health clinic closely associated with a GP clinic – including a dedicated weight management service, supporting chronic disease management, preventive health, and multidisciplinary care.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments.
- Develop and document nutrition care plans, education, and follow-up schedules.
- Provide patient-centred care using behaviour change techniques and motivational interviewing.
- Provide individualised dietary counselling and goal-setting for a range of conditions, including:
– Type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance
– Cardiovascular disease and high cholesterol
– Weight management
– Gastrointestinal conditions (e.g., IBS, reflux)
– Food intolerances/allergies (within scope)
– Malnutrition risk (older adults)
– PCOS and women’s health nutrition
Chronic Disease Management / Care Plans
- Contribute to multidisciplinary care planning as required.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate clinical notes in the practice clinical software ( Best Practice).
- Provide timely written communication to referring GPs (progress notes, outcomes, recommendations).
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality in line with the Privacy Act and clinic policies.
Collaboration
- Work closely with GP or other allied health professionals to support coordinated patient care.
Patient Education & Promotion
- Provide practical education resources and handouts tailored to patient needs.
- Support clinic health promotion initiatives (e.g., diabetes education, heart health, weight programs).
Essential Criteria
- Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status (Dietitians Australia).
- Current AHPRA registration (if applicable) and/or eligibility to practice as required.
- Medicare Provider Number (or eligibility to obtain).
- Professional indemnity insurance.
- Excellent communication and patient engagement skills.
- Ability to work autonomously within scope and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong clinical documentation and time management skills.
- Experience in community practice.
- Desirable Criteria
- Experience with chronic disease management and behaviour change counselling.
- Familiarity with GP referral pathways and Medicare item numbers.
- Experience delivering group education sessions (optional).

Working Conditions

This is a contractor and income will vary depending on individual fee structure, hours worked and patient load.
