The Opportunity

As an Occupational Therapy Supervisor to lead a small team of dedicated OTs in the NDIS sector. As a supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and supporting the team’s generalist caseloads, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to children and adults with complex disabilities. Your responsibilities will encompass providing 1:1 supervision, offering guidance and expertise in treatment approaches, and approving reports to ensure accuracy and compliance. Additionally, you will lead team meetings, fostering a collaborative and professional environment. Embracing a client-centered approach, you will travel to the community as needed, delivering services to participants and their carers. Your duties will include but not be limited to;

  • Manage and oversee a team of Occupational Therapists, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
  • Conduct 1:1 supervision sessions with individual Occupational Therapists to ensure high-quality service delivery and ongoing skill enhancement.
  • Review and approve reports and assessments prepared by Occupational Therapists to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Lead team meetings to discuss caseload management, client progress, and any challenges or opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain a varied clinical caseload of clients with complex disabilities, including children and adults.
  • Provide treatment, guidance, and education to clients and their carers, aiming to achieve positive outcomes for clients.
  • Engage in community-based service delivery as required, traveling to various settings to deliver services to participants.
  • Collaborate with other health professionals, educators, and support staff to develop comprehensive and integrated care plans for clients.
  • Develop and implement holiday programs and other specialized therapeutic activities to address the specific needs of the client population.
  • Utilise Splose and other relevant software for caseload management, documentation, and reporting purposes.

Skills and qualifications;

  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy – Minimum
  • Current AHPRA registration (or ability to register)
  • WWCC, Blue Card (or ability to obtain)
  • CPR and First Aid
  • Current Driver’s License and vehicle
  • Experience with applying evidence-based assessments and interventions
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Outstanding organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of NDIS – Desirable
