Forward Ability Support is a not-for-profit organisation with 60 years history of providing key services to people with spinal cord injuries or similar related health conditions. We are driven to make a brighter and more positive future for our community by supporting people with spinal cord injuries to live their best life.

We’re currently looking for Spanish-speaking support workers to assist in the client’s home with high-level personal care in Kingsford between 7am-1pm, 7 days a week.

You will assist with daily tasks, such as:

  • Mobility and Transfers – Helping clients into or out of bed.
  • Showering and Hygiene Maintenance – Getting clients dressed, brushing teeth and hair and other daily personal care.
  • Toileting – Provide bladder and bowel care, including enema insertion and changing catheter bags.
  • Mealtime Preparation – Assist in the preparation of meals.
  • Keeping the home tidy and clean.
  • Community Access – Support clients to visit the shops and other appointments they may have.

Important things you should know about the role:

  • This role requires you to communicate primarily in Spanish to the client.
  • Shifts available Monday to Friday from 7am-1pm
  • You must also be open to work short split shifts
  • We’re looking for Casuals with the intention to convert to Permanent
  • Dependent on experience, base hourly rate begins from $34.58 per hour (this is exclusive of the Casual loading)
  • All new starters undertake full-day paid training in Lidcombe

What will you need to join us?

  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Reliability and availability to work early mornings or late evenings
  • A car (fully insured) and driver licence to travel between clients
  • The following checks, or be willing to obtain:
    • NDIS Worker Screening Check
    • National Police Check
    • First Aid and CPR Certificate
    • Contactable industry-related references
