Personal Support Worker – Ferguson Lodge

Description

We are seeking Casual Personal Support Workers for Ferguson Lodge in Lidcombe.

Ferguson Lodge has provided community based accommodation and support for people with spinal cord injury since 1979. We provide a home with 24 private rooms for people living with spinal injuries.

We’re looking for people with diverse skills and backgrounds who want to make a difference in someone’s life. Comprehensive on-the-job training, mentoring and peer support are provided to help you succeed in the role.

About the role

As a Personal Support Worker, you will deliver high-quality, person-centred care, including being responsible for:

  • Personal care in the form of showering, toileting, dressing, grooming and personal hygiene
  • Safe transfers and mobility
  • Bladder and bowel care, including insertion of enema
  • Domestic assistance by ensuring the home environment is neat and tidy
  • Working collaboratively with your team
  • Supporting residents with community access activities such as going shopping, navigating public transport, visiting community facilities and more

Important things you should know about the role:

  • This is a Casual role
  • Must be available Monday to Friday for Morning shifts (6am-10am or 6am-2pm)
  • Base hourly rate from $29.90 per hour + 25% Casual Loading

What we’re looking for:

  • Friendly and compassionate team player
  • Experience in a similar role providing complex personal care to people with a disability
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate
