Enjoy a sea change with purpose. Our Yamba clinic is looking for an experienced and confident receptionist to join a close-knit team. You’ll be the first point of contact for patients and provide vital administrative support to help keep the clinic running smoothly in this relaxed coastal town.
About the Role
We are seeking a warm, organised and proactive Medical Receptionist to join our close-knit, professional team. This role is the heart of our practice’s first impression! Welcoming patients, supporting doctors and nurses, and keeping the front desk running efficiently. If you’re a natural multitasker with a people-first mindset, this is your chance to shine.
As the frontline of patient care, your approachability and confidence will help our patients feel supported and valued from the moment they walk through the door. You’ll work in a dynamic, caring environment that values teamwork, flexibility, and excellent service.
Key Responsibilities:
Reception & Patient Care
• Warmly greet and triage patients in person and by phone
• Schedule and manage patient appointments
• Process Medicare claims, private billings and EFTPOS transactions
• Maintain a clean, welcoming reception and waiting area
• Support doctors and nurses with general administrative tasks
Administration & Clinical Support
• Scan and file documents into patient records
• Maintain up-to-date patient information in the database
• Handle incoming/outgoing mail and assist with daily backups
• Prepare and batch Medicare forms
• Maintain stock levels and manage form supplies
• Ensure accurate messaging and follow-ups for recalls/reminders
Team Participation & Compliance
• Attend regular staff meetings and training
• Adhere to OH&S and infection control standards
• Uphold confidentiality and privacy of all patient information
• Assist with evacuations and emergency procedures when needed

Desirable Experience
• Previous medical reception or administration experience
• Familiarity with Medical Director and Pracsoft
• Willingness to work across multiple clinics if needed
