The Role
CGGS is currently looking for Basketball, Hockey and Netball casual coaches for the winter season.
Basketball: Term 2 and 3. We require coaches at various times for weekday training either before or
after school and weekend games (subject to team grading).
Hockey: commencing late term 1, through to term 3. We require coaches for either
– Thursday trainings (3.30pm – 5pm) and Friday evenings or Sunday games subject to team grading.
– Friday trainings (3.30pm – 5pm) and Sunday games.
Netball: commencing late term 1, through to term 3. We require coaches for training either Monday, Tuesday
or Wednesday (pending team grading) and Saturday games.
Suitable applicants are required to be available for the season for both mid week training and weekend games on a casual basis typically up to 4hrs per week.
Duties
1. Sport Specific Program
- Under direction and guidance of the Teacher in Charge (or equivalent) plan, implement and review sport training and games appropriate to age and skill level.
- Build positive relationships with students, staff and other stakeholders involved in the program
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Sport program for skill development and progression.
- Liaise with the Teacher in Charge and/or Sport staff for training and games
2. Children’s Health and Safety
- Promote the CGGS Values in training and competition
- Provide duty of care to all students within team/group
- Maintain accurate records including student attendance and incident reporting via applicable platform.
- Consult with the Teacher in Charge and/or Sport staff regarding the physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs of each child.
- Inform and consult with the Coordinator any concerns regarding the welfare and wellbeing of children in your care.
Qualifications and Relevant Experience
- Experience coaching at minimum a school/club level team in relevant sport
- Foundation level coaching accreditation relevant to sport (desirable)
- First Aid (desirable/willingness to attain)
Applicants are required to hold an ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) check and National Police Check.
