KWY is a leading South Australian Aboriginal Community Controlled Not for Profit Organisation and is focused on creating a space for healing and change. KWY has developed a highly specialised suite of programs focusing on positive outcomes for Aboriginal families and Communities. Cultural ways of healing and engagement are embedded throughout our programs and provide unique ways of improving outcomes and wellbeing, reducing risk and increasing safety.

We aim to improve the safety of women and children by providing specialist knowledge and culturally appropriate services to break the cycle of domestic violence and stem the flow of Aboriginal children into the child protection system.

About you:

You will have experience and knowledge in working with Aboriginal people to improve social and emotional wellbeing, enhance the safety of children, individuals and families, and an understanding of the complex needs of Aboriginal communities.

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Tertiary Qualifications: Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or a related discipline. Lived experience in these areas is also highly valued.
  • Outreach Expertise: Proven experience working with Aboriginal families, particularly those with complex needs, and a skillful approach to engaging families and carers.
  • Community Services Knowledge: A solid understanding of community services networks and agencies, along with the ability to cultivate strong relationships with service providers, clinical teams, and key stakeholders.
  • Collaborative Skills: The ability to work effectively within multi-agency teams, collaboratively assess risk, and serve as a first point of contact for families seeking support.
  • Cultural Competence: Demonstrated experience in providing direct support and case management to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, always through a culturally sensitive lens.

About the pay:

  • All positions are classified under the SCHADS award

Other requirements:

  • You must hold a current South Australian Driver’s License or a license which permits you to drive in South Australia.
  • Successful candidates will be required to clear and maintain probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check (Police Clearance), Working with Vulnerable People Check and Working with Children Check. (All successful candidates will require a clear WWCC, VPC, and NPC prior to commencement)
