About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Team Leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of a minimum of one of our Out of Home Care homes. You will ensure the home is safe, compliant and client-focused, while leading a team that delivers high-quality, therapeutic support to young people.
Reporting to the Coordinator and working closely with the Regional Manager, Case Managers and Therapeutic Specialists, you’ll create stable, nurturing environments where young people can learn, socialise, and build independent living skills. You will be required to work both on-site from your allocated house, and also from the office in Marrickville.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain high standards of house management and operational compliance
- Work in conjunction with the Rostering Coordinator to develop, monitor and update staffing rosters, including managing vacancies
- Ensure care aligns with Burdekin’s Therapeutic Framework and best-practice, client-centred approaches
- Coordinate all residential activities to ensure a safe, positive and stable environment
- Lead, mentor and support Youth Workers in implementing Behaviour Support Plans, Case Plans, and policies
- Manage house budgets, records and reporting requirements
- Organise and attend fortnightly team meetings
- Oversee individual programs and case plans for young people

Essential Criteria:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Services or a related field
- Experience managing or operating home-based community services
- Proven leadership and rostering experience
- Experience working with children and young people in Out of Home Care
- Ability to participate in the after-hours on-call roster
- Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check (or willing to obtain)
- Current driver’s licence and access to a vehicle with comprehensive insurance
