About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Rostering Coordinator to manage the rostering of Youth Workers across our Out-of-Home Care (OOHC) programs. This role plays a key part in ensuring our services are staffed safely, efficiently and in line with the SCHADS Award and organisational requirements. You’ll work closely with Youth Workers, Team Leaders and the broader OOHC team to manage rosters and respond to operational changes to support the children and young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the wider OOHC Team to develop and manage staff rosters across Out-of-Home Care (OOHC) programs, ensuring safe and consistent service coverage.

  • Respond to roster changes including leave, emergencies and staffing gaps to maintain service continuity.
  • Allocate staff to shifts based on availability, experience and the needs of children and young people, whilst participating in the after hours on-call roster for urgent shift coverage when necessary.
  • Ensure rosters comply with the SCHADS Award, contracted hours and fatigue management requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate labour cost and margin risks through disciplined roster and cost analysis in conjunction with operations and finance teams.

Essential Criteria

  • Ability to work across both our Inner West and Northern Beaches offices in the week
  • Minimum 1 year experience in workplace rostering (preferably within OOHC, Community Services or Disability sector)
  • Demonstrated understanding of the SCHADS Award and its application in rostering coordination
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams
  • Experience using Rostering Software, preferably Employment Hero
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
  • Current WWCC and NPC or willingness to obtain
