Payroll Officer

Part-Time – 20 hours per fortnight

BWNG is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to manage our end-to-end fortnightly payroll and support payroll reporting and reconciliation processes across the organisation.

This opportunity could be available with hybrid flexibility (office and remote work) and is ideal for someone highly detail-oriented, confident working independently, and experienced in complex payroll environments.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end processing of fortnightly payroll

• Processing Portable Long Service Leave lodgements

• Payroll journal entries and reconciliation to general ledgers

• Preparation of payroll and compliance reports

• Ensuring payroll compliance with relevant legislation and awards

• Liaising with management regarding payroll queries

• Supporting finance and payroll tasks as directed

Essential Criteria

• Extensive payroll experience in a similar role (minimum 50-100 employees)

• Experience using Pay Cat and/or Employment Hero

• Experience with the Social Community, Home Care and Disability Award (SCHADS) and other modern awards

• Strong understanding of payroll legislation, superannuation, and leave entitlements

• High attention to detail and strong reconciliation skills

• Ability to work independently and meet strict payroll deadlines

• Excellent organisational and communication skills

• Australian work rights are required for this position

Desirable

• Relevant qualification in Accounting, Payroll, or Finance

• Experience in not-for-profit, community services, or aged care
