As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team, supporting vaccination programs, chronic disease management, and Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) care within the Rockhampton Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
This is more than a nursing role—it’s an opportunity to connect with community, deliver preventative care, and provide health education that creates lasting change.
Key Responsibilities
This role includes (but is not limited to):
- Actively support and help run the ARF/RHD portfolio, including health promotion and community education.
- Coordinating and delivering of National Immunisation Program vaccines, including childhood, adult, flu, COVID and other immunisations.
- Administering and supporting mental health depot injections
- Venepuncture and pathology collection
- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to improve chronic disease outcomes
- This role will involve occasional outreach and travel to Blackwater and Mount Morgan, particularly to support RHD activities and health promotion

About You
You are a Registered Nurse who:
- Enjoys hands-on clinical work including ECGs, wound care, vaccinations
- Competent and confident in venepuncture and blood collection
- Has experience in chronic disease management and care planning
- Believes strongly in preventative health, education, and health promotion
- Is committed to providing culturally safe care and building trusted community relationships
- Communicates effectively and enjoys working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team

Essential Requirements
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum 3 years’ clinical experience (primary health care or chronic disease management preferred)
- Nurse Immuniser certification, compliant with Queensland legislation
- Must be competent and confident in venepuncture and blood collection,
- Understanding of, and respect for, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and health practices
