About Us

Rockhampton Children & Family Centre (CFC) provides comprehensive, locally responsive, and connected services that support child and parent/carer wellbeing. enhance positive child learning and development and build parenting capacity. Due to an increase in funding, we have an opportunity to support parents and carers in achieving better developmental outcomes for children aged between birth and eight years in the Blackwater community.

About the Role

This role is based in Rockhampton with weekly overnight travel to Blackwater. This role is to be filled on either a full-time or part-time bases until the 30th of June 2026.

The Early Childhood Coordinator (ECC) aims to ensure that every child can develop to their full potential, have a smooth transition to school and become successful lifelong learners. As the ECC, you will improve pathways and connections for families to access early childhood education, health, and development services within their communities.

As an Early Childhood Coordinator (ECC), you are expected to be an active team member who provides a holistic approach to child development and learning for children within Blackwater and the wider Communities.

About You

If you are passionate about supporting children to be developmentally on track when commencing school through actively working across existing child, family, or community service and have the following:

  • A relevant qualification or skills, knowledge and experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and other professionals in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to support practices to improve children’s learning, development, and school readiness outcomes.
  • Knowledge of commitment to evidence-based learning and development.
  • High-level knowledge and experience in computers and office software, particularly Microsoft Office Suite, and a willingness to learn and use other software packages.

Practical Requirements

  • Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
  • Immunisation requirements – It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases: measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis B, hepatitis A and pertussis (whooping cough) during their employment
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
  • Current Blue Card (Working with Children and young people) or willingness to apply for a Blue Card (note a current Blue Card will be required prior to commencement)
  • Satisfactory Police Check.
