About the Role

As the Performance Marketing Specialist (Paid Search), you’ll play a critical role in driving student enrolments through innovative, data-led search campaigns. Working closely with a passionate and high-performing marketing team, and reporting to the Head of Digital, you’ll use your expertise to develop and execute strategies that effectively engage prospective students.

You’ll manage significant budgets across multiple regions, optimising for key performance metrics such as leads, CPL, applications, and cost-per-application. With a strong analytical mindset, you’ll identify growth opportunities and deliver insights that shape strategic decisions.

This role is ideal for a results-focused marketer with a proven track record in lead generation for long-consideration products or services. It’s a hands-on position that requires a willingness to go deep—analysing and refining campaigns at a granular level, rather than applying surface-level optimisations often seen when juggling multiple client accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Search Advertising Excellence: Own and optimise paid search campaigns across Google Ads and Microsoft Ads to drive high-quality leads and student enrolments at efficient costs.
  • Campaign Strategy: Plan and execute full-funnel, data-led paid search campaigns, aligned to business goals and KPIs (e.g., cost-per-lead, cost-per-app, cost-per-enrolment). Manage everything from keyword research and bidding strategies to creative development and post-click optimisation.
  • Creative Development: Collaborate with the content and creative teams to craft compelling, high-converting ad copy tailored to audience intent and stage of the decision journey.
  • A/B Testing: Develop and run structured A/B tests on ad copy, extensions, bidding strategies, landing pages, and audiences to continuously optimise performance.
  • Audience Targeting: Utilise advanced segmentation and remarketing strategies to optimise full-funnel campaign performance, driving lead acquisition and conversion.
  • Budget Management: Confidently manage large-scale budgets, strategically allocating spend to maximise ROI and scaling campaigns that deliver results.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Use tools such as Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Supermetrics, and Data Studio to analyse performance and deliver actionable insights for continuous optimisation.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience directly managing paid search campaigns and driving performance.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale Google Ads campaigns with a focus on ROI for a single business.
  • Demonstrated expertise in lead generation and optimising full-funnel metrics, including leads, SQLs, applications, and enrolments.
  • Experience with additional Google Ads products such as Performance Max, Display, and YouTube.
  • Skilled in crafting impactful ad copy and applying creative insights to enhance campaign results.
  • Strong understanding of bidding strategies, offline conversions, CAPI, quality score optimisation, and custom audience targeting.
  • Advanced Excel skills and a sharp analytical mindset, with the ability to extract actionable insights from complex datasets.
  • Experience working with high-consideration products or services, ideally in education or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related discipline is preferred.
