More about the role:

We’re looking to add to our talented and high performing Nursing Program team with this highly impactful role as Head of Nurse Education and Research.

Reporting directly to our Chief Nursing Program Officer and forming part of the Nursing Program Senior Leadership Team, this role will be ultimately responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of the education and research strategies and programs as part of the McGrath Cancer Care Nursing Program.

For those of you that like a little more detail, key responsibilities include:

  • Provide outstanding leadership, coaching and support to the Nurse Education and Research team;
  • Develop and implement the education and research strategies for the McGrath Cancer Nursing Program in collaboration with the Nursing Program Leadership Team;
  • Oversee the design, development and delivery of education content and professional development opportunities for McGrath Cancer Care Nurses including online content via the McGrath Foundation Learning Management System (LMS), live online and in-person events, and the post-graduate study program;
  • Work with the Chief Nursing Program Officer and Nursing Program Leadership Team to support the leadership role of the Foundation in supportive cancer care nursing through research and high-quality academic outputs;
  • Provide input to key projects aligned with the Foundation’s objectives as required;
  • Provide operational management of the Education and Research Program as well as manage and maintain allocated education and research budgets and forecasts.

What you bring to the role:

This role is unique and highly sought-after, so our ideal candidate presents the following skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with post-graduate qualifications and experience in education and research.
  • Experience in collaborative partnerships and stakeholder management, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including budgeting and forecasting, and delivering to organisational outcomes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong presentation, editorial and academic writing skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience designing and developing higher education course material and experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Demonstrated contribution to cancer nursing research
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead and working collaboratively with team across the Foundation.
