A big hello from the Employment Hero team and welcome to the March 2025 product update. 

From simpler logins to faster compliance reporting, we’ll cover it all right here.

Removal of employee spend fee from Hero Points

(Available to all subscription tiers)

We’ve eliminated the employee spend fee from Hero Points, meaning your employees will no longer be charged a fee when they use their hard-earned Hero Points. We’re also making the fees even more transparent during the purchase flow, so everyone knows exactly what’s happening.

Importing gender data from Xero now more accurate

(Available to all subscription tiers)

When importing employees from Xero, gender data will now seamlessly integrate across both platforms to ensure data accuracy.

We’ve fine-tuned our Xero import to ensure that percentage-based deductions and those over $100 are imported with pinpoint accuracy.

Filter your Chart of Accounts (CoA) by location and employing entity

(Available to all subscription tiers)

For those managing multiple entities and locations, you can now filter your Chart of Accounts (CoA) by both location and employing entity. No more choosing between one or the other, allowing more reporting flexibility.

Simpler logins now available with Passkeys in the EH Work App.

Passkeys can now be used with the EH Work App. Forget remembering complex passwords – use and manage passkeys directly within the App under Security Settings.

View and assign benefits through the Benefits Management tab 

(Available to all subscription tiers)

Get ready to streamline how you manage and communicate company benefits. We’re thrilled to introduce a brand-new Benefits Management tab for admins. Here, you can easily view and assign company benefits to your employees. These benefits will soon be visible to your employees on a new Benefits & Perks page that’s just around the corner. Stay tuned for the employee-facing launch.

Policy and Induction Content reports now sit under the Compliance tag

(Available to all subscription tiers)

We’ve separated the Policy and Induction Content reports into two distinct reports under the Compliance tag. This means less waiting time for your data to load. Plus, we’ve added two handy new pinned report widgets for both, along with additional Custom Security Settings permissions for enhanced control.

Introducing the All-New Total Compensation Dashboard

(Available to all subscription tiers)

We’re excited to unveil the Total Compensation Dashboard (TCD), a brand-new feature designed to provide a consolidated and comprehensive view of each employee’s total compensation within their file. Admins can grant view-only access to managers, and with privacy mode enabled for all pay details, you’re in control of the visibility. The TCD includes essential information like base pay rate, employer-contributed superannuation, and employee-contributed superannuation, giving you and your managers a holistic understanding of employee compensation.

2026 public holidays now built into the Payroll platform

We’ve loaded the 2026 public holidays into the Payroll platform. This means you can confidently plan leave, knowing that those public holiday dates are locked and loaded, ensuring accurate leave calculations.

(Available to Premium Payroll subscription tier)We’re constantly expanding our award coverage to help you feel confidence in your compliance. 

We’ve added:

Effortless public holiday payments for auto-paid teams.

(Available to all Payroll subscription tiers)

We’re excited to introduce a brand-new setting that puts public holiday payments for your auto-paid employees on autopilot. You can now separate the ‘Public Holiday Not Worked’ earnings lines within an employee’s pay run and on their payslips. This new feature is currently available for auto-paid employees who don’t have awards, agreements, templates, rules, location/dimension splits, or full timesheets applied.

But for those eligible employees, Admins can now:

  • Auto-pay public holidays not worked (for those without timesheets or exception timesheets) based on the employee’s location.
  • Easily enable or disable public holiday auto-pay directly within the employee’s settings.
  • Benefit from a brand-new “Public Holiday not worked” pay category for clearer reporting.

Rest assured that Leave Without Pay (LWOP) periods that fully encompass a public holiday on both sides will still be processed as full LWOP.

Keep a Finger on Sick Leave with ‘Notify When Sick’.

(Available to Classic Platinum, and EOS Unlimited subscription tiers)

Staying informed about employee wellbeing just got easier. Admins can now leverage the ‘Notify when sick leave exceeds a number of days in the last 12 months’ template. This allows you to set a threshold, and managers will receive an alert if an employee’s total sick leave within the last year surpasses that specified amount.

Auto-calculate leave loading in backpay

(Available on Premium and Plus)

When calculating backpay that includes leave, our system now automatically calculates and includes leave loading.

Smarter onboarding and shift management with intelligent payroll

(Available to Classic Platinum, and EOS Lite, Plus and Unlimited subscription tiers)

During employee onboarding, you can now assign new Payroll tags and classifications directly within the employee’s file. What’s more, managers and employees can now apply shift conditions directly onto shifts. These intelligent updates ensure real-time and accurate application of pay rates, eliminating discrepancies in perceived employee pay and reducing the need for manual intervention.
