Are you a passionate and experienced Cook looking to lead a high-performing kitchen while contributing to community wellbeing and cultural safety? Waminda is seeking an accomplished Chef to provide culinary leadership and operational oversight across the Blak Cede Gunyah Cafe and kitchen team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality food services while supporting Waminda’s strategic goals and commitment to culturally safe practices.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Prepare and cook food in accordance with cafe menus and daily requirements
- Assist with food preparation, portioning, and presentation
- Maintain high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and customer service
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements
- Assist with stock rotation, storage, and inventory management
- Support kitchen operations to ensure efficient service during busy periods
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen and food preparation areas
- Work collaboratively with the cafe and kitchen team
Essential Requirements
- Experience preparing and cooking food in a commercial kitchen, cafe, restaurant, or similar environment
- Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Current NSW/ACT Driver’s Licence
- Current National Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Check
