About The Role
We’re looking for a Machine Operator to join our factory team, playing a key role in the day-to-day running of our production lines. You’ll be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring factory equipment and filling lines, ensuring production targets are met without compromising on quality or safety. This is a hands-on, factory-based role involving standing for extended periods, manual handling, and the use of PPE throughout. Flexibility to work overtime or alternative shifts may be required. It’s an ideal opportunity for someone who is reliable, process-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced factory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting up, operating, adjusting, and monitoring factory production equipment and filling lines
- Carrying out routine machine start-ups, shutdowns, and changeovers
- Ensuring production targets are achieved whilst maintaining high quality standards
- Performing in-process quality checks and accurately completing all associated documentation
- Reporting and escalating any machine faults, quality concerns, or safety issues promptly
- Carrying out basic machine troubleshooting and minor adjustments to minimise downtime
- Supporting planned cleaning and sanitation activities in accordance with GMP procedures
- Maintaining all work areas to a high standard of cleanliness and organisation
- Accurately recording production data, downtime, and material usage
- Following all Standard Operating Procedures, GMP, Health & Safety, and company policies
- Taking reasonable care of your own health and safety and that of those around you, in line with company policies and procedures
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across Factory, Quality, and Warehouse teams
- Participating in continuous improvement activities to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety Supporting the training of new team members when required

What We’re Looking For
Essential skills and experience:
- Previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to follow written procedures and complete documentation accurately
- Good attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality
- Solid understanding of Health & Safety requirements
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- A flexible approach and willingness to support across different production areas
Desirable skills and experience:
- Experience within cosmetics, pharmaceutical, food, or FMCG manufacturing
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
- Experience conducting machine changeovers and basic fault finding
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
- Positive and proactive attitude
- Strong work ethic with the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Quality-focused with a commitment to continuous improvement

Employment Type: This role is offered full-time, Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm.

Location: Tropic HQ is a short walk from Beddington Lane Tram stop, with direct links to East Croydon and Wimbledon.

Salary: £14.80 per hour
