Confined Space – LCM – Remote

Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Confined Space Engineer to join our high-performing team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for carrying out confined space tank entry and cleaning, high-pressure water jetting, and decommissioning tasks in compliance with strict health and safety standards. You will work on complex projects that require precision, teamwork, and a proactive approach to risk management.

As part of our operational team, you will undertake tasks such as cold cutting, manual handling, and working at height, ensuring all activities are completed safely and efficiently. This role demands flexibility, resilience, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Duties

Confined Space Operations

• Perform confined space tank entry and cleaning in line with safety protocols.
• Carry out high-pressure water jetting (up to 7000 psi) and basic pipework removal.

Decommissioning & Cutting

• Assist with tank and pipework decommissioning.
• Operate air-powered cold cutting tools safely and effectively.

Safety & Compliance

• Understand and adhere to Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
• Complete Dynamic Risk Assessments as required.
• Promote safety, health, environmental, and quality awareness at all times.

Maintenance & Reporting

• Report faults on plant, equipment, and infrastructure promptly.
• Assist in plant maintenance and housekeeping duties.

Training & Development

• Participate in regular training and support team development initiatives.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience in confined space operations and industrial cleaning.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety practices and compliance.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and flexible hours.
• IT literacy (including mobile apps for job management).
• Comfortable working autonomously or as part of a team.

Essential Qualifications

• Confined Space High Risk and Rescue Qualification
• Full UK Driving Licence

• UHP Jetting
• CCNSG Safety Passport
• SPA Safety Passport
• CSCS Card

Personal Attributes

• Safety-focused and detail-oriented.
• Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks.
• Adaptable and willing to work away from home (up to 4 nights per week).
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.

Desirable:

• Experience in tank cleaning and industrial decommissioning.
• Knowledge of cold cutting techniques and high-pressure jetting systems.
