Content Marketing Executive at Advantage Travel Partnership

What would you be doing?

This is a brilliant opportunity for a creative, curious and organised content marketer who wants to work across a wide mix of channels, audiences and campaigns in one of the UK travel industry’s most influential membership organisations.

As Marketing Content Executive, you will help turn business priorities, member stories, supplier activity and industry trends into engaging content that informs, inspires and drives action.

You will work closely with our marketing, commercial and wider business teams to create content for members, partners, trade audiences and consumer-facing activity. From social media and email marketing to magazines, websites and event campaigns, you’ll see your work making an impact across the business.

One day you could be helping promote a consumer-facing travel magazine, the next you could be shaping launch communications for one of our specialist business divisions. This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, can quickly understand different audiences, and is confident turning ideas into clear, engaging and useful content.

By building relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and members, you will help identify the stories that matter and bring them to life across the right channels.

The group marketing team supports the business in three fundamental ways:

  • Marketing our own brands to retain existing members and partners and attract new ones.
  • Marketing to our members to promote both our own and our partners’ products and services.
  • Marketing directly to consumers and clients on behalf of our members to retain existing business and help acquire new business for them.

The overall purpose of this role is to help plan, create and deliver content that brings Advantage’s brands, services, campaigns and stories to life across multiple channels. You will produce content for members, partners, trade audiences and consumer-facing activity, helping to create clear, engaging communications that build awareness, support campaigns and encourage meaningful action.

This role suits someone who enjoys writing, spotting stories, adapting content for different audiences and channels, and using insight to understand what works.

To do this, you would:

  • Plan, write and repurpose content across multiple formats, including web pages, blogs, social posts, emails, digital magazines, campaign assets, event content and partner communications.
  • Support the end-to-end delivery of multi-channel marketing campaigns, including email, social, web, digital publications and event-related content, from briefing and content creation through to deployment and performance analysis.
  • Produce high-quality long and short-form content, including blogs, thought leadership articles, customer stories, campaign copy and trade communications.
  • Create audience-first content that is tailored to different groups, including members, partners, trade audiences and consumers.
  • Write and optimise website content, blogs and campaign landing page copy, using SEO best practice where relevant.
  • Create engaging social-first content, including platform-specific copy, graphics, short-form video concepts and simple edits, adapting ideas for channels such as LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook.
  • Proactively spot stories across the business, our membership and the wider travel industry, turning them into compelling content that can be used across social, web, email, PR, magazines and events.
  • Develop and deliver integrated communications plans that bring campaigns, product launches and business initiatives to life across multiple marketing channels.
  • Support the Senior Marketing Executive with the production of our quarterly magazine by researching story ideas, conducting interviews, writing content and working with the designer to create an engaging digital publication.
  • Support the development and delivery of the organisation’s content strategy, ensuring content aligns with business priorities, marketing campaigns and audience needs.
  • Support the planning and management of the content calendar, including key industry trends, dates, campaigns and topics to share with our travel agent audience.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, supplier partners and members to identify opportunities and create engaging marketing content.
  • Research and stay updated on industry trends to identify opportunities for timely and relevant content creation.
  • Create compelling multimedia content, such as videos, graphics and infographics, working with designers and digital colleagues where needed.
  • Ensure all content is consistent with the company’s brand guidelines, tone of voice and messaging.
  • Work with the commercial team to understand supplier objectives, commercial benefits and the importance of the partnerships we have with our suppliers.
  • Use simple performance insight from email, social, web and campaign reporting to understand what content is landing, where improvements can be made and how future activity can work harder.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • A strong instinct for what makes content engaging, useful and relevant to different audiences.
  • Confidence writing in different tones of voice, from professional trade communications to more engaging consumer-facing copy.
  • Experience planning, creating and managing content across a range of social media platforms.
  • A good understanding of digital marketing channels and how content performs across them.
  • Basic understanding of SEO, social media trends and content performance metrics.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Experience using CRM systems and email marketing platforms. We currently use Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Creative thinking and the ability to generate new content ideas.
  • Confidence using, or willingness to learn, content management systems, scheduling tools, reporting tools and simple multimedia production tools.
  • Comfortable working with designers, digital colleagues and wider stakeholders to bring content ideas to life.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • A collaborative mindset and a hands-on approach.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and a fast-paced environment.

And have

  • Around 2 to 3 years’ experience in marketing, content, communications or social media role.
  • A portfolio of examples of written, social, campaign or content work would be welcomed.
  • Knowledge of public relations and media relations practices is a plus.
  • Experience or understanding of the travel industry is desirable.
  • Educated to degree level and/or a professional marketing qualification is desirable.
  • A flexible, hands-on approach and willingness to get involved across a broad range of marketing activities.
  • Confidence meeting members and suppliers at events and on video calls and occasionally presenting on behalf of the team.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage your own workflow.
