Summary:

CenterSet is seeking a motivated Design Engineer to join our start-up team in Aberdeen. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the design and development of the innovative technology being created by CenterSet, contributing to the first research and development project that will underpin our business. This permanent, full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, where creativity and technical expertise are valued.

Responsibilities:

  • Have an entrepreneurial mindset to be open to new systems and techniques.
  • Have an aptitude for using coding systems to build automations and workflows to achieve perfection in quality management.
  • Develop and design engineering solutions in accordance with project specifications and requirements.
  • Collaborate with the market research team to ensure designs meet quality and performance standards expected of the market.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and technical analyses to support design decisions.
  • Work with management to create and implement the engineering systems structure and automations to build a robust, compliant engineering foundation to CenterSet.
  • Prepare detailed design documentation, including drawings and specifications.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve product designs.
  • Assist in the testing and validation of prototypes to ensure compliance with design criteria.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements to incorporate best practices into engineering and design processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related field.
  • Some experience in a design engineering role or similar.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks) for design, modelling, tolerance stack analysis and creating manufacture drawings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
