Summary:

Hospital Products Australia (HPA) is a leading supplier of innovative medical equipment and healthcare technology solutions to hospitals and healthcare providers across Australia. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Service Technician to join our team specifically to service the Hunter New England LHD.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you’ll be the frontline technical support for our healthcare clients—installing, servicing, commissioning and supporting a range of technology devices used in clinical environments.

The purpose of the Service Technician (Regional NSW) position is to work closely with the Healthcare Technology Sales team located in New South Wales to develop HPA’s presence and client base in NSW along with supporting our current clients in the territory. This role will see you responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with our current customer base and new customers.

About the Role

Working closely with our Sales, Product Specialists and Service teams, you will:

  • Provide high-quality service, fault finding and technical support to customers
  • Install, commission and maintain healthcare technology equipment
  • Support product training and in‑service education for clients
  • Log, track and manage service requests to resolution
  • Assist with warehouse, logistics and equipment preparation as required
  • Ensure compliance with WHS, ISO standards and regulatory requirements
  • Travel to customer sites across NSW (with occasional interstate travel) but predominantly across the Hunter New England LHD.

This role is primarily performed during business hours, with some ad‑hoc after‑hours or weekend work as required.

What You’ll Be Working With

You’ll support technology devices across HPA’s portfolio, including mobile and fixed IT mounting solutions and devices from leading manufacturers such as Wamee, GCX, Humanscale and Zebra.

About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Experience in electrical fault finding and troubleshooting
  • Strong hands‑on experience with IT devices and technology equipment
  • Competence using hand tools and installing technical equipment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • A proactive, can‑do attitude with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • A current Australian Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel
  • Duties will be primarily performed during normal business hours although ad-hoc after hours and weekend work may be required
  • Preference for candidates located in the Tamworth & surrounding areas to support operational requirements

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Tertiary qualification in an IT or related discipline
  • Experience working in healthcare or clinical environment
