About Us
The future of the world is increasingly digital and connected — yet many Australians still suffer from
frustratingly slow internet.
At Gigacomm, we believe in the power of connectivity to improve the world we live in. We build and operate an independent network using the latest technology to provide reliable, ultra-fast internet to Australian homes and businesses up to 2GB/sec.
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team who bring different perspectives, help best represent the customers and communities we serve, and contribute to building a
rewarding culture.
About the Role
The Agile Business Analyst works embedded within Gigacomm’s Platform Development team, turning business, partner, and regulatory needs into clear, build-ready requirements that
engineers can deliver with confidence. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role
at the centre of an agile team.
You’ll report to the Product Owner
and work day-to-day with the Software Engineering Manager and engineering team
— partnering on backlog sequencing, capacity, removing delivery blockers,
prioritisation, and requirements alignment. You’ll also work closely with the
Wholesale team and RSP partners.
This is a Melbourne-based hybrid
role: you’ll split your time between our Melbourne office and home, with
virtual meetings the norm and instant messaging (Slack, Microsoft Teams)
preferred over email.
Gigacomm is an AI-first team. We
expect this role to use AI tools (such as Claude or similar) as a standard part
of how the work gets done — not occasionally, but as the first place you reach
— and to increasingly automate the parts of the role that can be automated.
What You’ll Do
Requirements
Elicitation & Analysis
- Elicit business,
functional, and non-functional requirements from stakeholders, partners, and
existing systems
- Analyse current-state
systems and processes to surface gaps, dependencies, and opportunities
- Produce clear, validated
requirements engineers can build from — just enough documentation, clarity over
volume
- Use and continuously
improve AI-assisted analysis and documentation workflows
Story
Writing & Backlog Refinement
- Write clear, testable user
stories and acceptance criteria in a format that works for the team
- Refine the backlog with the
Product Owner and Software Engineering Manager, balancing business value with
technical sequencing
- Keep a healthy, refined,
sprint-ready backlog moving — with fast turnaround on clarifications so
delivery never stalls
- Help surface and shape
engineering-originated backlog items (tech debt, platform improvements,
non-functional work)
Validation,
UAT & Process Support
- Validate delivered features
against acceptance criteria and coordinate UAT with stakeholders
- Produce process and data
flow maps where they aid understanding — a supporting activity, not the main
output
- Flag issues and drift early
with clear detail; ensure smooth handover
Stakeholder
Communication & Collaboration
- Collaborate day-to-day with
engineers, Product Owner, Business Stakeholders, and RSP partners
- Translate between business
language and technical detail, in both directions
- Facilitate requirements
workshops and stakeholder interviews; reconcile competing needs into a workable
direction
- Build strong, trusted
working relationships across the team
What You’ll Bring
Essential
- 4–6 years’ business
analysis experience delivering software in agile teams
- Several years’ experience
in the telecommunications industry (carrier, ISP, or wholesale telco)
- Strong, demonstrated
experience working embedded within a high-maturity agile software development
team
- Strong experience
working in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to write
clear, testable user stories and acceptance criteria (e.g. Given/When/Then) and
keep a backlog sprint-ready
- Demonstrated experience
using AI tools (e.g. Claude or similar) as a core part of analysis work —
drafting requirements, synthesising stakeholder sessions, generating test cases
- Sound judgment about when
to trust, validate, or override AI output, and a drive to automate the routine
parts of the role
- Experience with Jira and
Confluence as primary delivery and documentation tools
- Experience with process
modelling notations such as BPMN or EPC
- Strong stakeholder
facilitation skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Comfortable with ambiguity;
outcome-focused and pragmatic — clarity over documentation for its own sake
Preferred
- •Experience in B2B SaaS
environments alongside telco
- •Understanding of
wholesale/B2B business models and API products
- •Familiarity with BSS/OSS
domains — order management, billing, provisioning, assurance, address/service
data
- •Experience introducing or
improving AI-augmented ways of working in a team
Relevant, hands-on experience
matters more to us than formal certification.
