The Role As a Yard Hand / Labourer based at our Plant equipment yard in Willawong, you will support day-to-day yard operations, ensuring materials, equipment, and work areas are organised, safe, and ready for use. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in keeping things running smoothly, and works well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with general yard duties including cleaning, organising, and maintaining work areas
- Load, unload, move, and store materials, tools, and equipment safely
- Perform manual handling tasks including lifting, carrying, and relocating items
- Operate basic hand tools and equipment as required
- Operate a forklift safely and in accordance with site procedures
- Support trades and site teams with general labouring duties
- Ensure yard areas are kept tidy, safe, and compliant with safety standards
- Follow all WHS procedures and report hazards, incidents, or equipment issues
- Assist with stock control and inventory management where required
- Carry out other duties as directed by supervisors or site management
Skills & Experience
- Current driver’s licence (essential)
- Current forklift licence
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
- Strong work ethic with a reliable and proactive attitude
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely at all times
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Basic understanding of tools, equipment, and site safety practices
- Previous yard hand or labouring experience is an advantage but not essential
