Description

Access Mining is expanding our Safety and Training Team at our underground gold mining project in Western Australia.

The Role:

As our Safety and Training Coordinator, you will take ownership of health, safety and training requirements across the underground operation.  You will be the central point of expertise – setting the standard, building capability and ensuring every person goes home safely.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing safety and training strategies that support underground operations and maintenance
  • Managing workplace training, assessments and all associated records
  • Administering WHS and training databases — fully paperless systems
  • Leading incident investigations with a focus on genuine organisational learning
  • Managing the employee injury management process and return-to-work plans
  • Coordinating inductions, Zero Harm meetings and site training programs
  • Conducting inspections, observations and audits to drive continuous improvement

About You

You are an experienced safety and training professional who brings both the qualifications and the practical credibility to operate effectively in an underground mining environment. You understand the pressures of a live operation and know how to engage a workforce.

You will bring:

  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) — essential
  • Cert IV in Work Health and Safety — highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in a safety and/or training role in the mining or resources sector
  • Sound understanding of WHS legislation and its practical application on site
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across all levels of an operation
  • A methodical, solutions-focused approach to incident investigation and risk management
