Description

Zello are looking to appoint an Occupational Health Physician to join the team.

Summary:

The Occupational Health Physician (OHP) plays a crucial role in promoting and maintaining the health and safety of employees within the workplace. This part-time position involves assessing workplace environments, conducting health assessments, and providing guidance on health-related issues to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. The OHP will contribute to creating a safe and healthy work environment, ultimately enhancing employee wellbeing and productivity.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional clinical guidance and support to the OH Nurses, Health and Safety Managers, Clients, Medical and Allied Professional Practitioners. 
  • Perform medical assessments, and/or provide clinical sign off on reports for the OHN. 
  • Review complex and specific cases and those where there may be an Ill Health Retirement or 
  •  Disability Discrimination Act implication.
  • Undertake specific projects related to professional service development. 
  • Randomly review 10% of all cases, notes, record keeping, and outcomes of all work carried out by members of the OH team. 
  • Advise on specific service issues such as Drug and Alcohol Testing; Legislative update and interpretation; Employment and Health Matters; Staff Development and Training and Research 
  • Build relationships and liaise effectively with managers regarding all aspects of occupational Health practice and policy or practice developments. 
  • Ensure good communications with client employees, ensuring they are aware of consultation conclusions and advice to Managers. 
  • Liaise with clinical colleagues within infection control, health and safety/risk management and health improvement. 
  • Assist in the monitoring and maintaining of statistical information for completing client reports as contract specific. 
  • Awareness and involvement as required in clinical auditing processes and assessment 

Qualifications:

Essential Requirements

  • GMC registered medical practitioner with licence to practise
  • Previous experience working within occupational health
  • Strong report-writing and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently within a remote/hybrid model
  • Experience liaising with senior managers and HR teams
  • High level of professionalism, clinical judgement, and confidentiality

Desirable Requirements

  • MFOM or FFOM qualification preferred
  • Experienced Diploma-qualified Occupational Health Physician (DipOccMed/AFOM equivalent) would also be considered
  • Experience within large corporate or multinational environments
  • Experience using electronic occupational health record systems

Contract Details

  • Hybrid role:
    • Predominantly remote working
    • Occasional onsite attendance at London offices
  • Flexible scheduling by mutual agreement
  • Competitive day rate
