Your goal will be to provide a warm welcome to all our The Bothy restaurant visitors and do everything you can to make their trip a memorable one. You will be responsible for ensuring customers are served quickly and accurately, operating the tills, keeping the restaurant area impeccably clean, and supporting the team with whatever is needed to help create a great working environment.

This is a very demanding role, so you must be comfortable working at pace and being on your feet for most of the shift.

Hours: This is a weekend-only role:

  • Sundays: 11:30am – 4:30pm (every week) Saturdays: 11:30am – 4:30pm (alternate weekends)

Key Responsibilities

As a Catering Assistant, your role includes but is not limited to:

• Welcoming and seating customers • Taking customer orders • Assisting with menu and beverage recommendations • Preparing and serving food and drink orders • Setting tables • Cash handling • Handling customer queries and resolving issues in a timely manner • Cleaning tables and clearing used crockery and cutlery • Communicating effectively with the kitchen and wider team • Arriving to shifts on time and in impeccable uniform

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Ideally, we are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience in a catering environment (preferred but not essential) • Is friendly, approachable and sociable • Has a strong attention to detail • Is willing to learn new skills • Is flexible and happy to support additional shifts where needed • Can work confidently in a fast-paced environment • Has a basic understanding of restaurant procedures
