Description

Job Title: Product Management Officer

Reports to: Quality Assurance and Delivery Manager

Salary: £30,000 to £32,000 per year (depending on experience)

Location: Hybrid (min of 2 days per week in the Leeds Office)

The role will be collaborating across the team and UK Coaching to manage and maintain 1st4sport products, delivered under the Awarding Body brand 1st4sport. This role will support the achievement of 1st4sport’s regulatory compliance, strategic objectives, and budgetary targets.

Responsible for

Product management:

  • Contribute to and understand the product strategy and approach and ensure product activities are aligned to this strategy.
  • Manage the activities needed to develop and review products across 1st4sport, collaborating with colleagues in 1st4sport and UK Coaching to ensure products are high quality and fit for purpose.
  • Coordinate the maintenance schedule of the 1st4sport product portfolio and development processes.
  • End to end product management of the portfolio, including business case development and product scoping, quality assurance, documents and compliance checks for new and existing products.
  • Implement and operate a product development/review processes, collaborating with the team to ensure compliance of developments and reviews to ensure regulatory standards.
  • Facilitate the alignment, achievement and external recognition of 1st4sport products to appropriate professional standards and funding requirements.
  • Coordinate the development, implementation and review of assessment strategies and supporting guidance in the delivery of 1st4sport products including endorsements.
  • Provide support in maintaining, reviewing and utilising risk management activities to support regulatory compliance and business continuity.
  • Identifying recommendations or safeguards in product management to ensure a consistent and coherent delivery approach across centres and lead training providers to prevent potential malpractice or maladministration and ensure inclusion, fair access, and consistency.
  • Manage the digital and activity question bank library for examinations, portfolios, and end point assessments, ensuring questions and banks are updated and maintained and are current.

Stakeholder engagement

  • Provide product information and messaging for marketing and sales purposes.
  • Provide support and information to colleagues on operational areas relating to the development and management of 1st4sport products.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders including recognised centres, training providers and contractors on developments and queries.
  • Facilitate external and internal focus groups, feedback sessions, scoping calls and advisory panels relating to product development and maintenance.
  • Participate and occasionally leading information events with recognised centres, training providers, partners, and coaches.

Team management and performance

  • Undertake the recruitment, onboarding and contracting of external contractors to contribute to product development / maintenance as directed.
  • Commission and contract external contractors to undertake assessment activities, including reviews of work undertaken, reporting and processing of payments.
  • Maintain up to date and accurate records within the system of all contractors, activities and training.

Other

  • Undertake other duties as required to support the work of 1st4sport and UK Coaching Solutions.
  • Follow, promote and implement UK Coaching policies for the equal treatment of all employees, applicants and customers.

Essential:

  • Experience of working in a learning and/or assessment product/services role.
  • Proficient level of digital literacy including Microsoft packages.
  • Experience of product management
  • The ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to successfully work individually, with autonomy, and as part of a team.
  • Experience managing processes or projects.
  • Excellent written communication and proof-reading skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
