The Role 😊
The Front of the House roles at the Castle are varied and busy offering training and work across all three departments: Shop, Cafe, and Reception.
As a Front of the House team member, you will have a ‘home department’ where you will do most of your hours, this could be in the Cafe, Shop or Reception. However, in addition to your ‘home department’ you would also work across the other FOH areas to help support the teams demands.
Right now we are looking for someone to join our Reception team!
At Reception, you will be ensuring our customers receive a very warm welcome. The role includes providing information about the centre, ensuring the correct forms and paperwork are filled in, or offering information on our climbing facilities. You’ll also help with any questions regarding Memberships, the Garden, and more.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic team member to join us 20 hours a week, with availability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
This is a part-time permanent role paid at LLW (£14.8/h).

Main duties & responsibilities ✨
- Facilitating the entry of our customers, in line with the Castles’ health and safety policies
- Answering customer queries by phone, email and in person
- Administration of our customer database and bookings systems
- Provide excellent customer service all customers
- Providing knowledge of courses and booking information
- Process payments using our POS systems
- Working with the Duty Managers and colleagues to ensure a safe and friendly working environment for our customers and staff
- Collaborating with all front of house departments
- Potential to work cross-departmentally in front of house
What we’re looking for 🔍
We will offer training for each area, however previous experience in a customer facing role within sports centre, shop, or similar environment is desirable. A good knowledge/experience of climbing is also desirable due to the health and safety questions and knowledge base required around equipment.
You will be a team player, supporting your colleagues and be aligned to the values of The Castle, in sustainability and in creating a friendly and open environment for everyone.
Applicants should also have a high level of computer literacy and a high standard of written and spoken English.
Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays is required.
