We’re looking for a Seasonal Retail Assistant to join our friendly team at Tong Garden Centre. This is a varied and hands-on role that will see you working across both our Outdoor Plants Area and Garden Sundries Department, helping customers, creating inspiring displays, and bringing a little festive magic to our busiest time of year.

Whether you’re advising customers on the best plants for their garden, helping choose the perfect Christmas tree, or keeping our Christmas lighting displays looking their best, no two days are the same.

🌱 What You’ll Be Doing

• Welcoming customers with a friendly smile and helpful attitude
• Providing advice and guidance on plant selection and plant care
• Maintaining attractive and well-stocked outdoor plant displays
• Watering, caring for, and merchandising plants throughout the season
• Assisting with plant deliveries, unpacking stock, pricing, and labelling
• Supporting customers with Christmas tree purchases and outdoor festive displays
• Helping customers find everything they need in our Garden Sundries department, from compost and pots to Christmas lights and decorations
• Keeping displays tidy, safe, and fully stocked
• Supporting other areas of the centre when required
• Taking part in stock counts and helping maintain accurate inventory records
• Following health and safety procedures, including manual handling and safe working practices

✔ Is happy working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions

✔ Has plenty of energy and enjoys a physically active role

✔ Can work independently whilst also being a supportive team player

✔ Is adaptable, proactive, and enjoys a varied working day

✔ Loves the excitement of the Christmas season and helping create a magical experience for customers
