We’re looking for a Seasonal Retail Assistant to join our team at Otley Garden Centre on a

fixed-term contract until December 2026.

This is not just a stock-filling role. We’re looking for someone with previous retail experience who understands how to engage customers, maintain high standards and create attractive, inspiring displays that encourage sales.

As part of our retail team, you’ll help customers find the perfect products, keep our shop floor looking its best, replenish stock and support with merchandising across the centre as we prepare for the Christmas season.

Hours of Work:

This role averages 19.25 hours per week and includes alternate weekend working. Specific shift patterns are:

Week 1: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday 10-4

Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 10-4

What we’re looking for:

✅ Previous retail experience in a customer-facing environment

✅ Strong customer service skills and confidence speaking with customers

✅ Experience replenishing stock and maintaining high retail standards

✅ A good eye for detail and visual presentation

✅ Merchandising or visual merchandising experience would be highly advantageous

✅ A flexible, positive attitude and willingness to support across different departments

What you’ll be doing:

• Delivering excellent customer service and product advice
• Maintaining attractive, well-stocked retail displays
• Supporting seasonal merchandising and Christmas displays
• Processing deliveries and replenishing stock
• Operating tills and handling transactions accurately
• Helping keep the shop floor safe, clean and inviting
• Supporting colleagues across the garden centre when required
