Summary:

Star Sports are looking to recruit for a Betting Shop Deputy Manager for a shop in George Street, Hove. As a Betting Shop Deputy Manager in Hove, you will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of our retail betting shop. You will assist the Shop Manager in delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring compliance with regulations. This position is vital for maintaining a welcoming environment for our customers while fostering a motivated team culture.

Looking for flexibility? We welcome applicants seeking part-time or full-time roles, offering anywhere from 16 to 40 hours per week to fit your lifestyle.

The ideal candidates will:

  • Be experienced in betting shops in or around the Brighton & Hove area.
  • Have a track record of success within the industry.
  • Enjoy giving a genuine ‘old school’ betting experience, where the customer isn’t just a FOBT player/OTC punter.
  • We want people who are able to connect with customers on a personal level and offer a service unmatched within the local area.
  • Passionate and have good knowledge about sports, particularly racing.
  • Ability to work out what local customers want, with a skillset to come up with innovating/interesting incentives for customers which marketing/trading could replicate online and to other shops.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Shop Manager in overseeing daily operations and staff management.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and resolve any customer issues promptly.
  • Support the training and development of staff to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Maintain a clean and organised shop environment.
  • Handle cash management and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a retail or customer service environment, preferably in a betting or gaming context.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Basic numeracy skills for cash handling and financial reporting.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
