About the Role

A rewarding role supporting an adult man in his own home with 2:1 support. He enjoys a relaxed and sociable environment, has a great sense of humour, and loves films, sharing a joke, and spending time outdoors—especially walking his much-loved small dog, so being comfortable around dogs is essential.

He values support that helps him maintain his independence with daily tasks such as household activities, while also providing reassurance and clear communication where needed. He enjoys getting out into the community, including trips for coffee or walks. This role would suit someone kind, empathetic, and understanding, who can build a positive rapport and provide thoughtful, person-centred support in a dynamic setting.

No two days are the same – your role will include:

  • Supporting with personal care and daily living tasks
  • Assisting with cooking, cleaning, and household duties
  • Supporting attendance at appointments and community activities
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing
  • Supporting hobbies and interests (e.g. cooking, arts & crafts, music, gaming, dancing)
  • Working with individuals with autism, learning disabilities, mental health needs, and complex care needs
  • Using positive behaviour support and de-escalation techniques
  • Working in environments where pets (including dogs) may be present

About You

  • Experienced in supporting individuals with complex needs
  • Calm, resilient, and confident in challenging situations
  • Passionate about person-centred care
  • Supportive of independence and personal development
  • Willing to learn and develop professionally
  • Comfortable working in homes with pets
