Description

Salary: £21,158 – £24,785

Location: Derby

Right Legal Group is a well-established Law firm, regulated by the SRA that specialises in Wills,

Probate and Estate Planning. We have built a network across the country which works together on

a mission to change the way people think about making a Will and preserve not only our clients’

financial assets but their emotional assets too, for future generations. We are here to protect

You will responsible for managing a caseload of probate matters from initial instruction to final

closure. You will work directly with executors, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders, providing

clear, accurate, and empathetic advice on all aspects of probate administration.

The position combines legal expertise, case management, and client relationship skills, ensuring

that every stage of the probate process is handled efficiently, in line with legal requirements, and

in accordance with Right Legal Group’s service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with the rest of the business to deliver its core purpose and cultural values
  • To attend meeting with clients in person, over the phone and by zoom to give advice on
  • Probate administration.
  • To utilise the probate case management system, ensuring all steps of the probate
  • administration are accurately recorded
  • To ensure you are advising within your capability
  • To manage a caseload of Probate files from inception to closure and to take ownership of
  • the outcome of that file.
  • To ensure executors and/or beneficiaries (where appropriate) are regularly updated on
  • the progress of the matter.
  • To ensure the RightProbate service is delivered at all times.
  • To manage a diary of meetings and caseload work and to ensure sufficient availability is
  • created within diaries to accommodate the client and achieve monthly targets
  • Refer clients for any financial services, or any other services required which are out of the
  • scope of the role of a fee earner in a legal practice where appropriate.
  • To assist other fee earners when necessary.
  • To take part in business development where required.
  • To ensure all client and office monies are correctly banked in line with the Solicitors
  • Accounts Rules.
  • Any other duties consistent with the general scope of the job.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, SRA rules, and internal policies.
  • Maintain accurate, secure, and complete client records in line with GDPR.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks, escalating where appropriate.
  • Adhere strictly to Solicitors Accounts Rules when handling client funds.

Legal & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, SRA rules, and internal policies.
  • Maintain accurate, secure, and complete client records in line with GDPR.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks, escalating where appropriate.
  • Adhere strictly to Solicitors Accounts Rules when handling client funds.

Client Experience

  • Provide empathetic, professional, and transparent communication to clients at all
  • stages.
  • Ensure clients understand the probate process and are kept informed of progress.
  • Actively manage expectations, timelines, and next steps to avoid misunderstandings.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity and professionalism when dealing with bereaved clients.

Performance

  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual file completion targets.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy and compliance in all documentation and
  • processes.
  • Achieve high levels of client satisfaction and positive feedback.
  • Contribute to departmental revenue targets and efficiency improvements.

Key Competencies & Experience

  • Ability to build trust and rapport with clients, delivering a personalised and empathetic service.
  • Understanding of Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and related legal processes (or a willingness to develop in this area).
  • Exceptional accuracy in preparing documents and managing administrative tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information clearly to clients
