The Fine Print:

Pay: £40,000 – £60,000 DOE

Contract: Permanent, Full- time, 37.5 hours per week

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday – 8.5 hour days including 1 hour unpaid lunch.

🌟 About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to step into a fast-paced, commercially driven role supporting our SumUp Business Development Manager. You’ll play a key part in helping grow our retail partnerships across the UKI and European markets, balancing account management, market insight, and operational support.

You’ll have real ownership from day one, working across a diverse portfolio of retailers while building the skills and experience to progress into a future BDM role.

💼 What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting day-to-day operations across reporting, logistics, and trade marketing coordination
  • Analysing market trends across regions and verticals to identify growth opportunities
  • Executing joint business plans and monthly marketing initiatives within retail partners
  • Managing and developing relationships with up to 10 “B” tier retailers to drive sales performance
  • Collaborating with distributors and internal teams to ensure seamless delivery across accounts
  • Coordinating projects across small merchants and retail field sales
  • Producing accurate, timely reporting on retailer performance and campaign outcomes
  • Supporting operational processes including forecasting, compliance, and logistics

🧠What you’ll bring

  • At least 3 years’ experience in business development or sales, with a focus on delivering results
  • Exposure to key accounts or retail sales environments
  • Experience within FMCG, consumer electronics, or similar fast-moving sectors
  • Strong analytical skills, with confidence using Excel and working with data
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Commercial awareness, with the ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders
  • A proactive mindset, with the drive to learn and develop within a growing business
