The Production Operative role…

Our Order Pickers and Packers (Production Operatives) play an essential role here at Pure Pet Food. Each day 1000’s of individual customer orders are produced, picked and packed ready for daily distribution. All from our dry and non-refrigerated factory site located in Cleckheaton. Maintaining our high levels of customer service is essential and our pickers and packers’ ability to select the correct order for each and every customer goes a long way in achieving this.

Duties and responsibilities of the role are:

  • Pack and label sealed dry food pouches into individual customer boxes as directed by our internal system. Presentation is key, considering this when packing the individual pouches is essential.
  • Use warehouse management system to track inventory and update records.
  • Keeping the areas clean and tidy to ensure production/dispatch/service efficiencies can be maintained by all staff.
  • To ensure that all mixes are packed to the specified quality, food safety standards and legal requirements, within the HACCP Plan and Food Safety Plan.
  • To minimize waste of all types, including ingredients, packaging, products, power, time etc.

It’s essential that you have:

  • Experience with a food production environment
  • Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and communicate any issues or concerns (both verbal and written English)
  • High levels of attention to detail
  • A willingness to develop and grow within our factory

It would be great if:

  • Experience with a food production environment
  • You have a food safety qualification (desirable but not essential)
