Kitchen Assistant

Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Meridian School 20 hours per week on a Term-Time only basis. The Kitchen Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Chef Manager and team members in preparing and cooking meals, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen, and ensuring that all food safety and sanitation standards are met. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and service , excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Chef Manager and kitchen team in preparing and serving meals
• Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
• Follow all food safety and health and safety policies
• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen
• Assist with food preparation and service
• Assist with dishwashing and cleaning duties as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Chef Manager

Qualifications:

• Food safety qualification ( Training provided)
• Previous experience working in a kitchen or food service environment preferred
• Knowledge of food safety and health and safety
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
