Description

Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Woking High School on a term time only basis 25 hours per week. The Kitchen Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Kitchen Manager and Kitchen staff in baking cakes and pastries , and preparing and cooking meals, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen, and ensuring that all food safety and sanitation standards are met. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, some baking experience and excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Kitchen and kitchen staff in preparing and Baking Cakes and pastries
  • Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
  • Assist with stock management and ordering supplies
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen
  • Assist with food preparation
  • Assist with dishwashing and cleaning duties as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the kitchen manager

Qualifications:

  • Catering Qualification
  • Previous experience working in a kitchen and baking experience preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail
