Support Worker (Internally known as Enablement Assistant)

Location: Southampton

Hourly Rate: £13.50 per hour

Hours Per Week:  Ful time and Part time hours

The person you will be supporting is a 43 year-old female who lives in her own home in Southampton and is supported on a 1:1/2:1 support ratio 24 hours per day.

Sarah has a diagnosis of autism, learning disabilities and mental health needs and is a type 2 Diabetic.

She has an amazing sense of humour and really enjoys developing relationships with her team members. She enjoys physical contact.

Sarah is very active and will go for long walks to the beach,  park and pub, it is therefore essential that her team members enjoy walking and being outside for long periods of time.

She also enjoys, music, attending the theatre, and going to the cinema to watch new releases. Sarah really likes animals and attends a local farm; she especially likes dogs.

Sarah need support with personal care, medication,  meal preparation, shopping, cooking and being encouraged to try new things.  She would like people to be patient and help develop her life skills and support her to live her best life.

Sarah can struggle with her emotions and can get upset and confused very easily.  It is essential to have team members who are able to identify when she needs extra support and be kind, patient and empathic, with a positive approach during these times.

She is very close with her family, and they have a big impact on her life, so it is vital you can help her continue those relationships.
