Description

Job Purpose 

The Reinstatement Planner is responsible for effectively planning and programming reinstatement works for Support Drivers, Grab Teams, and Hotbox Teams. The role ensures that all work is scheduled as efficiently as possible, taking into consideration material types, site locations, team availability, and permit end dates to support timely completion and compliance.

Key Responsibilities 

– Plan and programme daily reinstatement works for Support Drivers, Grab Teams, and Hotbox Teams. 

– Schedule work efficiently by grouping jobs based on location, material type, priority, and operational requirements. 

– Ensure permit end dates are closely monitored and works are planned to avoid overruns or non-compliance. 

– Liaise with supervisors, gangs, drivers, and operational teams to ensure work plans are clear and achievable. 

– Review upcoming workloads and allocate resources effectively to maximise productivity. 

– Identify any potential planning issues, including access restrictions, material requirements, or permit constraints. 

– Update planning systems, spreadsheets, or internal records accurately and in a timely manner. 

– Communicate changes to schedules promptly to relevant teams and stakeholders. 

– Work closely with the reinstatement and streetworks teams to ensure works are completed within required timescales. 

– Monitor completed works and adjust future programmes where necessary to improve efficiency. 

– Support the wider operations team with planning queries and progress updates.

Key Skills and Experience 

– Previous experience in planning, scheduling, logistics, utilities, highways, or reinstatement works is desirable. 

– Strong organisational and time-management skills. 

– Ability to plan work efficiently across multiple teams and locations. 

– Good understanding of permits, deadlines, and the importance of compliance. 

– Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 

– Ability to work under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities. 

– Good attention to detail and accuracy when updating systems and records. 

– Confident using planning systems, Microsoft Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications. 

– Knowledge of reinstatement materials and streetworks processes would be advantageous.
