Description

Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated HR Advisor to join Mezzino. The HR Advisor will play a crucial role in supporting our property and housing operations by providing expert guidance on HR policies, employee relations, and recruitment processes. This permanent, full-time position is essential for fostering a positive workplace culture and ensuring compliance with employment legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Lifecycle Management

  • Support the end-to-end employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, development, and offboarding
  • Coordinate onboarding processes including offers, contracts, right to work checks, and induction
  • Manage leaver processes, including exit documentation and system updates
  • ·Ensure all employee changes (e.g. promotions, salary changes, contractual updates) are accurately processed and recorded

HR Administration & Systems

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records within the HRIS
  • Issue contracts, letters, and HR documentation in line with company policies
  • Track key HR activities such as probation reviews, training completion, and policy acknowledgement
  • Manage the HR inbox, responding to queries or escalating as appropriate
  • Ensure all HR documentation is stored correctly and in compliance with data protection requirements

Employee Relations & Support

  • Act as a first point of contact for employee queries, providing guidance and support
  • Support the HR Manager with low-level employee relations matters such as absence, conduct, and performance processes
  • Assist in preparing documentation for formal HR processes (e.g. investigations, disciplinaries, grievances)
  • Promote positive employee relations and engagement across the business

Absence, Wellbeing & Attendance

  • Monitor and maintain absence and holiday records
  • Support managers in managing absence in line with company policy
  • Track trends and flag concerns to the HR Manager
  • Contribute to wellbeing initiatives and employee engagement activities

Recruitment & Talent

  • Support recruitment activity including advertising roles, screening applications, and coordinating interviews
  • Liaise with hiring managers to ensure a smooth and efficient recruitment process
  • Support employer branding and candidate experience initiatives.

HR Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Support HR projects and initiatives such as policy updates, system improvements, or engagement activities
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and administrative efficiency
  • Assist in maintaining HR trackers, reports, and key metrics

 General

  • Ensure all HR activities are compliant with employment legislation and company policies
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times when handling sensitive information
  • Undertake any other duties as required to support the HR function

Key Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Previous experience in an HR role (Coordinator, Assistant, or Advisor level)
  • Strong understanding of the employee lifecycle and HR processes
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proactive, with the ability to work independently and use initiative

Desirable:

  • Experience using HRIS platforms (e.g. Employment Hero or similar)
  • CIPD Level 3 (or working towards)
  • Knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Experience supporting employee relations processes
