We’re looking for a Senior Property Lawyer to lead the legal delivery of a major compulsory acquisition program in the renewable energy and infrastructure sector – a rare chance to drive a large-scale, high-stakes portfolio from mobilisation through to settlement, embedded within our Property + Projects (Energy & Infrastructure) team.

Some of the responsibilities you’ll be trusted to run

• Lead legal delivery of a large-scale compulsory acquisition program end-to-end, including statutory notices and applications under Victorian energy and land acquisition legislation
• Instruct experts, negotiate compensation offers, and prepare matters for Disputed Claims (VCAT or Supreme Court) where agreement can’t be reached
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts, leases and deeds across the portfolio
• Run legal project management across a large portfolio of landholder matters, including stage tracking and client reporting
• Support and develop less experienced team members’ work

What you’ll bring

• 8+ years’ PQE in property law – experience in land access, energy or infrastructure projects, or Victorian compulsory acquisition is highly favourable although, not essential
• A high level of confidence running your own matters autonomously, with high standards for technical accuracy
• A commercial mindset, focused on outcomes that create real value for clients
• A genuine interest in client relationships and business development
• A collaborative approach –  you support others and contribute to team culture
